A rare encounter with an English wine.

“A singular expression of the Isle of Wight — three vineyards on a single Georgian estate, each with its own character, its own slope, its own story.”

Few vineyard visits anywhere in England can offer what Gatcombe does: three distinct vineyards on a single eighteenth-century estate, each with its own aspect and story, explored together in one unhurried afternoon.

Your guided walk takes you on foot through all three blocks — Park, Home, and Hope — with the wine-maker explaining the thinking behind each site: the soils, the slopes, the four classical grapes planted to express them. Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Pinot Meunier and Pinot Blanc, set quietly into the heart of the island. The walk continues into the winery itself, where the estate's first vintages have been made, from hand-picked fruit to finished bottle.

The experience culminates in a guided flight of three wines from the 2025 inaugural harvest — the first bottles the estate has produced, including the Rosé de Saignée and the Pinot Blanc. The tasting is served alongside small sharing boards and matched bites, brought through as pairings to bring out each wine in turn. These are wines with a provenance you will have walked, before you taste.

A private introduction to a long-quiet estate, the tour offers a rare chance to taste the founding vintage — the beginning of a relationship with these wines, vintage by vintage, as the vines find their roots.
