A Georgian jewel,
reimagined

The Estate

Ancient grounds of a Domesday estate, modern mastery of Pinot Noir

Fifty acres of Isle of Wight on the south side of the Solent — a vineyard now counted among the emerging homes of ultra-premium still Pinot Noir, an English Landscape Movement garden in active recovery, and a Georgian house at its heart.

A vision in the land

A long restoration, patiently underway

When we acquired the estate in 2023 we found fifty acres overwhelmed by sycamore, bramble and invasive growth — a Georgian property hidden behind decades of neglect. The renewal is patient, specific, and underway.

“Gatcombe's score of 1266 Growing Degree Days places it well above the threshold of 1100 — comparable to the Rheingau and Burgundy.” — Viticultural assessment, 2022
